Background
Indian Air Force and Indian Army aviation moved rescuers, medical teams, relief stores and engineering equipment into Kathmandu and to districts cut off by landslides. National Disaster Response Force teams worked on collapsed structures alongside Nepali responders. Indian aircraft also evacuated civilians, including nationals of other countries. India subsequently committed post-earthquake reconstruction assistance covering housing, health, education and cultural heritage.
