Myanmar Earthquake Response

India launched Operation Brahma within a day of the 28 March 2025 earthquake in central Myanmar. Six aircraft and five naval ships delivered 625 tonnes of relief material, an 80-member NDRF search-and-rescue team worked in Mandalay, and an Indian Army field hospital treated more than 2,500 patients.

Background

The response combined Indian Air Force transport aircraft, Indian Navy vessels carrying relief stores, a National Disaster Response Force search-and-rescue contingent, and a field hospital staffed by Indian Army medical personnel. India was among the first countries to land assistance in Myanmar after the earthquake.
